About us

Established in 2020 by Gareth Doherty, who brings over 30 years of butchery expertise, The Barn Butchery & Farm Shop champions traditional craft, ethical sourcing and community values. Today the barn holds a full butchery counter and farm shop downstairs, and The Barn Kitchen upstairs, where the same meat lands on your breakfast plate.

Nestled just outside Bury St Edmunds in Denham, we hand prepare premium Suffolk raised meats, fresh seasonal produce, and speciality treats, all with traceability and care. Since opening our doors, we’ve earned recognition across East Anglia, including reaching the regional finals of the Muddy Stiletto Awards in 2025

Above our butcher’s counter in Denham you will find The Barn Kitchen, our breakfast and coffee shop near Bury St Edmunds. Full English breakfasts, eggs Benedict, smoked salmon on sourdough, barista coffee and homemade cakes, with every rasher and sausage cut by our own butchers downstairs. Walk in, no booking needed, and dogs are very welcome.
